Title: "AJ McCarron is the X factor, but Alabama will beat LSU" Post by: Chechem on November 04, 2011, 06:30:57 AM (http://media.al.com/sports_impact/photo/10218682-large.jpg)
Quote BIRMINGHAM, Alabama - The Alabama-LSU game has been broken down from A to Z, but one letter in this alphabet soup of names, numbers and matchups matters more than any other. It's the X factor. Fitting that it's someone who has two initials for a first name. It's Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron. That's not just my opinion. It also comes from a veteran coach who's faced both Alabama and LSU this season, who's helped game-plan for the Tide and the Tigers. Since the coach likely will have to meet these teams in the future, and we wanted his honest opinion in breaking down this matchup, we allowed him to make his comments without revealing his identity. The coach didn't pull any punches. He said this is the first game this season in which Alabama needs its quarterback to play well to win it. Last year, when Alabama traveled to Baton Rouge and lost 24-21, Tide quarterback Greg McElroy didn't get the job done. They needed him to make some throws to win the game, and he didn't do it. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/11/rival_coach_ajs_the_x_factor_a.html Title: Re: "AJ McCarron is the X factor, but Alabama will beat LSU" Post by: Chechem on November 04, 2011, 06:41:16 AM "Veteran coach who has faced both teams this season"?
Got to be Charlie Weis. Title: Re: "AJ McCarron is the X factor, but Alabama will beat LSU" Post by: Jamos on November 04, 2011, 07:02:34 AM No doubt McCarron is the key to this win. LSU is going to lay their ears back and come after him, hopefully he remembers that there may not be much opportunity, time wise, to throw the long ball and to use his quick routes.

The 4th Q may be a fun ride, especially if those who know Coach Saban best are right in saying, "Sit back and watch a masterpiece". Except his job is not a lock for next year, which makes being secretive even more important. JMHO but you can't have a slob like that representing the brain trust.Got to be Charlie Weis. Actually, his brain works. After all, the human brain is about 60% fat. HTH. Title: Re: "AJ McCarron is the X factor, but Alabama will beat LSU" Post by: ricky023 on November 04, 2011, 01:39:07 PM I don't think the pressure should be on AJ as to how he helps us win or not. There are 10 other players who have to block, run, and catch. I think our main problems to help us win is going to be the kicking teams and penalties. If LSU has to go 80 or more yards each time on our Defense I don't think they can do it. 44 players together as ONE team will win this game. Not one man or young man or one great young man. RTR!
