I don't have an AP vote like last season, but I don't know how I'd put any team over Bama at No. 2. Still a very good team.

TUSCALOOSA - Rematch?

Let the arguments begin.

If second-ranked Alabama (8-1, 5-1 in the Southeastern Conference) wins the rest of its regular-season games, could it deserve a chance to play top-ranked LSU (9-0, 6-0) again in the BCS National Championship Game?

Alabama coach Nick Saban seemed to be in no mood to "speculate on a hypothetical situation" following a 9-6 overtime loss Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

When the subject of getting back in the national championship picture came up, he first deflected the question, then touched it gently.

"I'm looking forward to looking at this film, trying to make our team better," Saban said. "Trying to improve as a team. Play the next game that we have and do the best job on controlling things that we can control, which is how we play and what we do.

"I'm sure every other coach in the country will try to do that with his team, and whoever the folks are who make those decisions will make those decisions based on the full body of work of every team in the country and choose which teams are the best."

The differences between the #1 team and the #2 team were settled (of course we have arguments about this) on the field Saturday night. But if anything, it most clearly indicated how miniscule/minuscule the differences were. Voting priviledges should be revoked for everyone that did not vote Bama at least #2.

Any writer or coach that voted Boise State higher than Alabama should be drug tested immediately.

Let me put this out there.  What if Ark upsets LSU, what happens then?   I do think OSU will lose to OU.  Oregon can beat Stanford.  What happens then?

If Ark does upset LSU and Ark, LSU and Bama end up 7-1 in SEC play who goes to Atlanta? What is the tie breaker in that senario?

My guess is the highest ranked team in that scenario would go.

I just looked it up on the SEC website. In this senario the three teams are still tied after all tie breakers are used. The team rated highest in the BCS standing will represent the West.

I think this would favor us and we would probably be in.  I don't think Arkansas has the hogs to do it though.

I agree, Arkansas winning is pretty remote.  Still, seeing what Oregon and WV's offense was able to do against LSU with passing, and with Les Miles in the coaching box, it is not an impossible scenario.

Alabama might also have the argument Miles used to get LSU into the title game with 2 losses in 2007 -- it wouldn't have lost a game in regulation.  Coupled with the interception call on Maze's pass, which is highly debatable, I think Bama has a great argument provided OkState loses and maybe Stanford loses as well.
