Title: Daily Reading 11/8/11 Lord looks in your heart
Post by: ricky023 on November 08, 2011, 11:21:41 AM
Our daughter died of cancer at age of 33. Today would have been her birthday.

"1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart."

I was reading awhile back about a man who worked for a bank in a large city. On the ground floor of this bank building, there was a cafeteria. Day after day, this man would get a two-cent pat of butter and hide it under his roll so that he wouldn’t have to pay for it when he got through the line.
Now, this went on for a month or so. And eventually, people began to watch him and noticed him stealing the butter. So it was reported to the bank president, who subsequently fired him on the spot saying, “If I can’t trust a man with a two-cent pat of butter, how can I trust him with thousands of dollars?”
I wonder how many believers God doesn’t use because they’re not faithful in the little things. Yes, they may go to church, serve on a committee or two, sit in the front row, and bring the best dish to the picnic. But when it comes to actual obedience, they’ve strayed in the little things.
Today’s passage couldn’t be clearer. While the world defines the outward appearance as important, God looks beyond that and into your heart. So if you want God to do something great in your life, be obedient in the little things and He’ll bless you beyond your imagination! God Bless!

Heavenly Father I pray now for sins to be removed by the royal blood of Jesus. Lord i want you to look in our hearts and find pureness and love. Teach us to follow your way and to remember what we are looking at, the world is temporary
bu what is in our heart is forevermore if not cleansed. God Bless! In the name of Jesus I pray. AMEN

I have heard you talk of your daughter before. That is such a sad story. My Mother died at the young age of 53 and my Grandfather told me the hardest thing he ever had to do is bury a child. Peace be with you and your wife today.

Think not on the days that are gone, but on the days that are ahead when you will hold her in your arms again and hug her like only a daddy can.
