Quote President Barack Obama has used an interview with a US Spanish-language newspaper to say he thinks Alabama's new immigration law is bad law, the newspaper La Opinion reports. The president cited reports of children afraid to attend classes and church workers potentially facing arrest, according to La Opinion. "All this makes the law, not just anti-immigrant, but I believe it doesn't match our essential values as a country," the newspaper quoted Obama as saying according to a translation provided by the immigration group Americasvoiceonline. Obama's comments in the interview brought him censure from an Alabama politician Friday. The Montgomery Advertiser reported that House Speaker Mike Hubbard, R-Auburn, rapped the president's remarks, saying the state's law was an attempt to correct the failures of federal law. They just want the opportunity to finish the job of running our country into the crapper. They have been handing out exemptions to Obamacare right and left to all their friends. Now, open borders needs addressing, to try and "finish the backbone of America off."
