Alabama solid at No. 3 in the latest AP poll

the USA Today coaches' poll, Alabama moved up one spot to No. 3 today in The Associated Press poll.

The Crimson Tide only trails LSU, the unanimous No. 1 pick, and Oklahoma State.

The latest BCS standings will come out tonight. Alabama would be expected to stay at No. 3, behind LSU and Oklahoma State.

In the AP poll, Alabama has a healthy lead over No. 4 Oregon, which defeated then-No. 3 Stanford 53-30 on Saturday.

Alabama rebounded from a 9-6 overtime loss to LSU with a 24-7 victory Saturday at Mississippi State.

Oklahoma State has 1,432 points. If it had received every No. 2 vote, it would have 1,440 points.

Alabama's point total of 1,380 equates to a unanimous No. 3 pick, but the Tide probably received a few No. 2 votes and some votes lower than No. 3.

Oregon has 1,326 points. That's six more points than it would have received as a unanimous No. 4 pick.
