TUSCALOOSA | That the University of Alabama's senior class can establish itself as the winningest class in school history Saturday against Georgia Southern is fitting enough.

Alabama's outgoing seniors are 45-6 in their careers, a mark that ties them with the 1994 Alabama class that also won 45 career games.

"I'm always happy to see the seniors get recognized for the contributions that they've made to the program as well as the university and how they've represented the university," said UA coach Nick Saban. "Especially this group, who has won 45 games the last four years, which I think puts them up there with just about everyone. We're happy that they get a chance to be recognized and everybody realizes what their accomplishments have been since they've been here."

If UA were to pick up wins over Georgia Southern, Auburn and a bowl opponent, it would establish a record of 48 wins, an average of 12 season, for future classes to aspire.

Injury update
Saban said offensive lineman Barrett Jones, who missed Saturday's win over Mississippi State with an ankle injury, remains day to day. He was replaced in the lineup at left tackle by McCullough. Also day to day are defensive end Jesse Williams (shoulder) and receiver Darius Hanks (ankle). Hanks and Jones were in white jerseys Monday, while Williams and freshman Vinnie Sunseri, who was knocked out of the MSU game on a punt return, were in black (non-contact) jerseys.

Re injury report: This week would be a good time to hold out those who are dinged up.

The seniors should be proud of what they have done. They will win 47 games in four years after they win their next two and a bowl game.

I did not count the SECCG since it is a long shot at this point.
