Post by: Marshal Dillon on November 16, 2011, 03:06:24 PM
Maybe Penn State is serious about erasing this incident from their history.

You have to wonder if the school is going to wipe out nearly every mention of Paterno it can. Is the stadium or field named after him, or were they planning on doing that after he retired?

True. They also mentioned that Joe's name was going to be removed from some trophy the school gives. Can't recall the name, though. The way this is going, all Joe Pa's body of work with be a distant memory. He will forever be know as the coach that hired the pedophile.

It's gonna be a little tough to wipe out everything from somebody that has been a part of PSU since 1950. I admire their effort, however.

That was my thinking, too. Especially since he is now all-time wins leader and basically IS Penn State football (or WAS, I guess).

I wonder if they start referring to him as "He, whose name we do not speak".

Your linked story says," School denies Parterno Statue will be removed."

When I first heard the rumor of Paterno's statue being removed I wondered who made that decision.  Think about it; they've all been fired.  It must just be a rumor.
