Voting for the Heisman Trophy this year wasn't as agonizing as last year.

The voters didn't have to consider what to do with a Heisman candidate whose father had asked for money from a prospective school in exchange for a signed letter of intent.

This year's vote was all about what happened on the field. How refreshing.

Richardson not only led the SEC in rushing, he outdistanced second-place Michael Dyer of Auburn by more than 26 yards a game. He was the offensive player of the year in the best conference.

Richardson averaged more than 6 yards a carry and nearly 132 yards per game while facing five of the top 50 rushing defenses in the nation.

With first-year starter A.J. McCarron at quarterback for Alabama, he was the focus of every defense the Crimson Tide played.

Richardson was first on my ballot, followed by Luck and Ball.

Finally an intelligent columnist (oxymoron).
Imagine what TR could have done to the defenses in the other two's respective conferences.

I am not sure how a voter could vote any other way. They can do it to damage our Rep. with recruits. I think when that honesty and purity of the class is to be maintained the voters need to show it first. RTR!

That's right, we know he has 3 first place votesm now.

I tweeted that Bruce Feldman this afternoon and said I heard you left TR off your ballot.

That was all I said.

I noticed in one of the recent projections that if you add the honey badger's votes to TR's votes you get basically the same tally TR had after the Auburn game, which is just enough for him to win.  He wasn't even a finalist until after the SEC Championship game.  I blame Georgia for this.

It's sad to see TR getting beat up by all this, he deserves a lot better. He did enough on and off the field to win this but media politics cost him his dream of winning the trophy.  :(

Joey Galloway, yes, that Joey Galloway, new addition to ESPN, just picked Trent.
