Title: Cleveland Browns Played QB After Sustaining a Concussion
Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 14, 2011, 07:25:26 PM
This is incredible. They didn't even check him for a concussion and their excuses are so lame. Originally, I heard it mentioned the Browns had checked him for a concussion.

I heard a story about this on ESPN today.  Nobody said it directly, but (reading between the lines) it seems the Browns decided the best way to beat the new rules on concussions is to simply not check for symptoms and ignore any likely symptoms.

I think this is absolutely correct. The trainers and doctor didn't see the hit. Give me a break. Everyone on the Browns team saw it and you know someone said something to the medical staff. Holmgren is a lyng weasel or he's so stupid he believed the head coach.

Quote
During a nearly one-hour news conference, Holmgren explained that McCoy was not checked for a concussion on the sideline after the hit because he wasn't showing symptoms. Also, the team's medical and training staffs were unaware of the impact of Harrison's helmet-to-face mask hit because they were on the sideline working on other injured players.

You'd think out of 70,000 people, somebody would have seen it and brought it to someone's attention.

You're right. Cote wasn't shy about telling the Texas trainer when Marcell broke him.
