Title: Terry Bowden Headed To Akron
Post by: crtuneman on December 22, 2011, 11:20:51 AM
It seems that the Zips (what a stupid name for a team) are hiring Terry Bowden. Is this really a step up from UNA? I thought he had a good thing going in Florence and would stick around. Will UNA still get the Alabama cast offs? Maybe Terry will take them to Ohio with him. I just hope that Akron has a good Jenny Craig program, cause Buster Brown bears a striking resemblance to Charlie Weiss now.

 Good observation. I doubt many will follow him to Ohio, though.

UNA's team was very undisciplined under Bowden.  Most in the Shoals will not be sad to see him leave.

I respect the UNA school and football program very much. I have glad to see him move on. Any average coach could have done what he did at UNA. UNA is expected to win the Gulf South Conference and contend for national championships. As HL said he will not be missed.
