Title: Is There a Fire Brewing on the Plains? Article with Link
Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 22, 2011, 07:30:58 PM
The author is obviously an Auburn homer who convienently fails to mention certain facts.

Auburn should be in one of the best positions of any football team in the country, returning eight of 11 starters on defense in 2012 and every offensive playmaker from 2011 as well, with the exception of Dyer. So why is it that the sky seems to be falling on the Plains? Every local radio show in Alabama is discussing the downward spiral that the Auburn Tigers football program must be in.

Having 8 starters from a defense that allowed 29 points a game is not something that impresses me. They were burned many times on long plays and their tackling was poor. Plus, they will be under a totally different defensive system with a new D coordinator.
Also, who are all these wonderful playmakers they have returning, Kyle Frazier at QB?

What a puff piece!  This is breakthrough thinking that ranks right up there with the scientific discovery that air is good to breathe.

The air thing was reality based.

"The most memorable game I've had this year, I've got to say, was Auburn, because after the first couple of hits, everybody (on Auburn's defense) was just backing up," said Copeland, a sophomore from LaGrange, Ga. "They didn't want to hit at all. ... Before I got to them, they just fell down and just laid on the ground," Copeland said.

This does not sound like a football team that wants to play very much. I would say that spiral was true.  ;), RTR!
