Title: Auburn Non-Conference Basketball Schedule is a Joke Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 25, 2011, 09:15:02 PM I loved hearing the announcers talk about how the Auburn BB program has been "revitalized" by Coach Barbee this year during a game Friday night (12/23) in a basketball tounament in Hawaii. Aubarn was playing Longbeach State and the announcers kept talking about Auburns improvement and their 8-1 reecord. Well, Auburn lost the game 63-42. Plus, here's the schedule the "improved" Auburn tigers have played:
McNeese St. 84-62 Kenesaw St. 68-55 Nicholls 78-57 Arkansas-Pine Bluff 72-59 Seton Hall 59-81 (loss) South Florida 52-40 North Florida 84-71 Florida A&M 76-69 Hawaii 65-62 Longbeach St 43-64 (L) UTEP 76-83 (L) Coming up: Ga. One of the weakest SOS in the country. They only play 3 quality teams in non-conference play. The other 11 games have RPI of over 200.
The RPI of 154 does not account for losing to UTEP last night. UTEP has a RPI of 214. That is what you call a bad loss. The RPI will be adjusted to include that loss later today. Compare those numbers to ours. We have a RPI of 19 and a SOS of 10. I'm not sure who they can beat in SEC, nobody I guess. That is not improvement but they are on the same line as last year. RTR!
