Title: What should I do?
Post by: SeniorTSM on January 06, 2012, 02:52:14 PM
I am stationed here at Shreveport, a guy I know (Bama fan) knows a guy (LSU fan) that owns a Skate rink here.

The Skate rink is going to show the game on a projector and the guy I know has invited me, the wife and kids to come watch it. the kids can skate for free.

Here is the problem, I know at some point in the game a Corndog fan will make a comment that will irratate me and my wife. the other problem is someone has to keep and eye on the kids.

I think I will have to pass, as only about 25 Bama fans will be there and the rest 200 will be LSwho fans.

Not a good idea to watch the game with the enemy LSU friend. If he is a friend he will invite the kids to skate another time. I like to root for my team and sometimes that can make the other side mad. No fun having to act like you don't care when we whip their azz.

Remember we live football. That said I think you and your wife could take them in a street fight.

Do you believe the Tide will prevail? This "could be/will be" the most fun you've ever had, as long as you have a way to watch replays of the game later.

I do think Bama is going to win, but I also know when they start winning these tigha fans start getting mean, I have seen it.

I was in Mobile for the Senior Bowl the first year we got Saban and an LSU fan next to me said, were going whip yall and Nicks ass next year. total lack of class on their part, and thats how most of them are, I took my hits after the first game this year, but I can tell you most of them are scared to play us again.

Always a chance some corn dogger might pull the plug if the Tide runs away with it.

My question would be what kind of language is going to be used around your kids. You and I know that people get out some vulgar words at gatherings to impress or look big! I would be very careful as there are many places to watch the game. RTR!

About the time this matchup was announced I posted that the LSU guys I know were good with playing again. But as it gets closer and closer they seem to be crawfishing.

Stay home. If a scuffle happens you can't watch the game from jail. :(

You can always send the wife and kids and stay home with an illness... :dunno:

What kind of martial art skill do you have?  When we win, you will most likely need it!

Never consort with the ememy.

Find a Bama group to watch with.

Absolutely do not go.  LSU fans can be the greatest when they are happy but when they are not... >:( .  Now add to that that kids in general can be mean and you really don't want your kids bearing the teasing if Bama is losing or the anger if Bama is winning.  Going to the skate rink in LSU country to watch the bama lsu ncg is what I like to call a lose/lose.   Watch this one at home or with other bama fans.

Imo...it's tough enough tryin to watch the game, whilst, tryin to watch the kids. Thats a hard decision to make bro...

For me...I'd stay @ home in a good homely atmosphere and take in the game with the family. You can always take the kids skating anytime!...

Personally?  Yes.  I want to defend myself in case someone tries to make me eat that crap.

YES!!! Believe it or not, people rob anyplace they think they can get money from. Not to mention some nut job who just wants to kill people and picks Chuck E. Cheese. Always be prepared.

Everywhere I go, I go armed. I refuse to be a victim or allow others to be victimized if I can prevent it. I never flash my weapon or let anyone know I am carrying, this allows me to have total surprise if I have to use it. Trust me, you want me around if someone means to do you harm.

Me too. Even church. Kids parties, restaurant scenarios make me nervous though. Bend over, shirt rides up, someone starts screaming, "Gun, Gun , Gun!" LOL

That's easy to fix, carry a "pocket" pistol. Kel-Tec and Ruger make a small .380 pistol which fits in your pocket. I carry the Kel Tec P-3AT. It weights 8 ounces, but the barrel is 2.7 inches for better accuracy. Cops love them for a backup weapon.

I have been robbed by the skeet ball game at Chuckie's> It didn't spit out the tickets after a game.

All this gun talk...man, if there is ever a CRS meet up I would be the only one not packin'.  I don't even let my boys keep toy guns.   I let my husband have a wide berth (e.g. that new truck sittin' in the driveway) but I draw the line on guns with boys in the house.  Scares the dog mess outta me.  One of my kids is a scary combination of fearless, great at problem solving, stubborn, and smart.  No way I would let that kid anywhere near a gun, even in a locked cabinet.  He already tried breaking into our backyard shed to get his trains by finding keys around the house and trying it out.  He's 4 so it is only gonna get worse.  :tinfoil:

Yeah, age 4 is a tough age with guns around the house. You have to keep the guns unloaded and in a gun safe or vault. I understand your concern and worry.

You have to be smarter than a 4 year old.

I feel robbed every time I take the young'un to Chuck E. Cheese. All that money for a bunch of mindless games, crappy pizza, and a "band" that makes Barney sound like Led Zeppelin.
