Title: "Bama has always been hated"

Great article in the T-News by an acquaintance of mine:

Sitting in a seafood restaurant near Morgan City, La., in 1982, a bumper sticker pinned to the wall caught my eye.

“My two favorite teams are LSU and whoever is playing Bama,” it said in purple letters. It had been plastered on cars with Louisiana license plates throughout the late 1970s and early ’80s. Bet whoever has the original plates for that one could sell a few down there these days.

Being an Alabama fan has its rewards. Jan. 9 was rewarding, particularly for me, because Alabama’s 21-0 victory securing the 2011 National Championship came over LSU.

The “Rammer Jammer” cheer might not be good sportsmanship. It sure sounds good when it’s aimed at people who harass every opposing fan with taunts of “Tiger bait, Tiger bait.”

Shoot, it's fun to chant, no matter who they beat.
