Bama looks to turn things around tonight with a win against South Carolina there. Bama has lost their last three games and find themselves in a critical situation if they are to make the NCAA tournament this year. Their season started out as a shoo in to make the tournament as they had some big wins but the last three loses has changed all of that.

The game tonight should be a win for the Tide, but their "on again and off again" performances in the three recent loses can only make you wonder as to what team will show up tonight. CAG knows a win tonight is a must for his team and has stated that some things has to change for this team, mentally and physically, for them to be successful. Bama changed their game tempo some against Kentucky and could have won that game but the mental aspect of the game at the end cost them dearly.

CAG has insisted this team has to play with lots of intensity on both ends of the court, so it will be very interesting to see what the tempo of the offense will be in the game tonight. Roll Tide!!

Road games in the SEC are never easy but this is a bad USCe team. We should win with ease tonight. We need to not only win but get our confidence back. A solid road win will stop the three game losing streak and hopefully start a nice winning streak. Our schedule is as easy as it gets in the SEC over the next 5 games. We can get things turned around and lock up a NCAA bid if we play well the next few weeks.

We still have a strong RPI. We have just played the three best teams in the SEC with two of those games on the road. I calling the Vandy game a fluke, we are not that bad. We get to feed on the mid and lower tier SEC teams now and the wins will come.

Tide looking good early with lots of energy and good D. Jacobs & Greene both starting, giving us some size under the basket. Tied 5-5 with 17 minutes left in half. Releford shot , SC takes it down and Green blocks THREE consecutivve shots.

Greene makes great fade away, 9-7 SC.  Steele puts in missed shot. SC slams one under the basket by himself. Jacobs hits hook, 11-11. Turnover, ball goes thru hands of Jacobs on pass from Steele. Tide sends in Guuye, Randolph with Steele, Releford, and Greene. Very physical line-up. 13-11 SC.

Now Mitchell has 2 fouls, but SC has only 2 fouls on team in the half. Lineup includes Randolph who hits a 3, Releford, Gueye, Lacey, & Steele. Tide leads 24-23 despite the superior offensive rebounding by SC. This is an interesting lineup.

Bama finally hits a 3 and takes a 1 point lead but they have no offense at this time. I can't figure out what they are tring to do, no one is making any cuts to the basket they just pass it around until they turn it over or maybe get one down low and they try to muscle their way in.  ???

Tide rebounds missed 3 by SC but takes it down the court and turns it over. SC is 9-23 FG and 3-14 on 3's. SC scores and leads 25-24. SC in zone and Tide passing WAY too much and shoots at last second and Lacey misses. Releford fouls on other side of court. SC hits bth FT's. 27-24 SC. Tide half court offense looks sluggish. Randolph hits another 3, tied 27-27.

Steele tough under the basket and gets rebound and is fouled shooting, hits both FT's, 29-27 Tide. Steele playing guard position has 6 rebounds. Tide rebounds missed shot by SC and calls timeout with 1.8 seconds left. Refs add time to clock, now 2.2 seconds left. Randolph misses 55 fot last secon shot. 29-27 half.

Bama up by 2 with 2 secs left in the half and I am amazed that they aren't at least 10 down. Bama just can't handle a zone defense and I don't understand why. The only man that is moving on the offense is the guy with the ball in his hands. CAG better be dialing up somebody and start asking how to beat the zone.

Tide is leading eventhough Green sat a while in the first half. I hope someone picks it up in the 2nd half.

Jacobs is playing well but needs some help. I like it anytime Levi Randolph gets involved in the offense. Some senior leadership/big guy play might be helpful. The Tide has better athletes. RTR

Tide has ball. Lord, an awful pass by Releford to Greene is stolen. SC 5'9" guard drives to basket and scores. Amazing!!! SC 56-54. This is awful. Tide loses to worst team in SEC. I'm getting angry now. Grant has to share some blame for all of these offensive problems. Instead of trying to hold everyone to 55 points, maybe more emphasis on shooting and scoring should be done.

Another game were the other team does everything right in the final minute and we do everything wrong.  This game should not have come down to the final minute though.

BINGO!! Instead of constantly practicing defense, how about teaching how to box out and give them time to practice outside shooting. SC had 17 offensive rebounds, that's ridiculous.

This team resembles a snowball in a hot oven, they have completely melted. CAG says they were gonna play a faster tempo game, why, so they can turn the ball over at a faster pace. To beat Bama all any team has to do is throw up any type zone and it's game over.

I don't know which of the assistants is responsible for designing their plays but he wouldn't be there tomorrow if I were the head coach. Bama has seen too many zone defenses this year to still have this much trouble with them.

I hate to be this dissapointed with the team but they have done a complete collapse and I don't see it getting any better for them.

I don't know why, but it seems like there is a big attitude problem with the older guys.  Maybe CAG should put them in timeout for a couple of weeks and let the young guys get some more experience.

Plus you're throwing it to a guy who is doube-teamed and playing on a bad ankle. What was Releford thinking?

I really don't think Grant is letting the team practice offense enough, he's a defensive freak who is all about D. It's obvious we don't work on rebounding and blocking out and setting up screens.

Another year of disappointment in basketball, not living up to preseason hype. This happens over and over.

Very disappointed in this team as they have digressed. CAG needs to get things turned around quick or this season will be over in early February. I still have my sights set on the NCAA Tournament but it's not looking good right now.

I do think it would be a good idea to sit Green and Mitchell until they realize their game time is optional if they aren't willing to participate fully when they are in the game.  It doesn't do the team any good for them to be on the floor if they are going to be pouting and moping around the whole game.  I may be too harsh on Green since he hurt his ankle before I turned the game on, but Mitchell has been moping around for several games now.  If they aren't going to put forth the same level of effort as the other guys, sit them on the bench and use the rest of the season to let the young guys get some more experience for next year.
