Title: NSD should be uneventful for Bama
Post by: Jamos on January 26, 2012, 09:11:57 PM
Andrew Bone spoke at our REC meeting tonight and he did a good job analizing Bama's commitments. He said that he expects all of the commitments to fax in their papers on NSD with no surprises at all. Per Bone, he ranks this class with the 2008 class.

He was asked about Landon Collins and the possibility of him flip flopping to LSU but replied that he didn't think that would happen at all. He also touched on the issue about Collins mother and all that happened the night he committed to Bama. A few days after the game he talked with Collins and told him that he was sorry that his mom had disagreed with his decision to enroll at Bama but Collins replied that he didn't care what his mother thought, because he had not lived with her for the past 10 years. Yes Collins did take a trip to LSU with his dad.

There was only one player that Bone thought might want to change his mind and enroll at Bama and that was Dalvin Tomlinson.

Per Andrew, Bama has a chance to get the top two ranked players next year in Alabama, Louisiana, and Georgia. I wouldn't count Florida out either, it would depend on positions needed and what Florida has to offer. Bama is getting four good recruits from Florida this year, Eddie Williams, Chris Black, Amari Cooper, and Trevell Dixon.

Yeah, Goldman waited too long to say he wanted to be at Bama and they filled that position, Alexander may end up at LSU because LSU is courting one of his HS teammates as well. He thought Kirven might be leaning toward VT.

I was hoping we would get Alexander but I was afraid we were out of room for him. I would rather him go to LSU than the barn. He is a good player. I saw him when we played Oxford this year. That is the game he injured his knee. He played outside LB and sealed off his side of the field better than anyone I have seen in HS since Rolando McClain.

Good info Jamos, thanks.

Bone was very high on Alexander but I think his injury may have played a role in his recruitment.

I'm sorry I keep posting the info in bits and pieces but I didn't have a pen or any paper with me last night to take notes, my bad.

There is one bit of info on a recruit that has been making the papers of late, RB Justin Taylor from Atlanta. He will be enrolling in 2013. Per Bone, the Atlanta newspaper really messed up the young mans thinking for a while but he's all squared away now.
