I will always remember Anderrs for smashing Texas QB Gilbert causing the fumble that set up Alabama's next to last score in the 2009 BCS NCG, putting game out of reach and securing #13!

Not a bad smash on Barner Burns either.

In 2009, University of Alabama linebacker Eryk Anders was delivering big hits for one of the best defenses in college football history. Today, Anders is dishing out hits of another kind as an aspiring mixed martial arts fighter.

The 6-foot, 230-pound former Tide star participated in his first sanctioned bout on Saturday, Jan. 28 in Cullman against Zach Howell and walked away a winner.

"It's something I've been wanting to get into for a long time" Anders said of mixed martial arts fighting. "I've always watched it on TV and I was a state champion wrestler in high school so it appealed to me right away."

Anders is best known to most Alabama fans for the fumble he forced near the end of the Tide's BCS Championship Game victory over Texas, sealing the win for the Tide.
