LSU quarterback Jarrett Lee, who remained on the sidelines for the entirety of the Tigers' 21-0 loss to Alabama in the BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 9, told Scott Rabalais in an interview with the Baton Rouge Advocate that he believes he could have helped LSU's struggling offense in the game.

"I felt, if I was given the opportunity, I could have come in and done things to help," Lee told Rabalais.

Lee, who completed 3-of-7 passing attempts with two interceptions against the Crimson Tide in November, questioned the decision-making of the LSU coaching staff during the game but denied recent rumors of internal turmoil leading up to the BCS National Championship Game.

"I don't know what happened. Obviously, the coaches had a reason for doing what they did. As a player, you have to respect that. But there were some players and plays that could have helped us win."

"All that stuff, the rumors about a confrontation before the game, all that's false," Lee said. "We were excited. We had a great game plan. But give credit to Alabama."

Lee said he is currently preparing for the upcoming NFL Draft and said he is optimistic about the Tigers' 2012 team, which is expected to contend for a BCS title yet again with quarterback Zach Mettenberger at the helm.

Nobody could have beaten Alabama that night! Not even the Giants. LOL

Jarrett Lee tried single-handedly to throw the Nov 5 game for LSU.  He's sniffing glue if he thinks he would have helped in the BCS.  But I'm glad he keeps undermining Les.  :)
