Title: Duke at North Carolina Post by: Catch Prothro on February 09, 2012, 07:51:14 AM This was a great basketball game last night, and another come-from-behind victory for Duke. Trailing by 10 points with 2 1/2 minutes left, Duke played well-disciplined basketball and never gave up. Finally getting the lead down by 1 with 14 seconds left, Duke fouled, NC only hit one free throw, and without any timeouts left Duke player Austin Rivers dribbled down the court, backed a few steps off the three point line (he was being guarded by a 7 footer) and sank the 3 as time expired for a 1 point victory.
http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2012-02-09/rivers-no-10-duke-stun-no-5-unc It reminded me of Duke's "Miracle Minute" victory over Maryland in 2001 when Duke trailed by 10 with a minute left but won the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiBVtzJOWCU This is to say that Coach K is the best in the business about keeping his team motivated and never quitting. These games should be teaching material for coaches to show their players that the game isn't over until the clock expires. Title: Re: Duke at North Carolina Post by: Jamos on February 09, 2012, 08:49:26 AM I watched most of it and enjoyed it as well. I turned it off with about 5 minutes to go because Duke looked very hopeless at the time but I guess I should have hung around until the fat lady sang.
Title: Re: Duke at North Carolina Post by: Chechem on February 09, 2012, 08:49:27 AM We watched the entire game. Three observations:
1. Both teams are loaded in talent (not news); 2. UNC lost the game by missing their last free throw; 3. LF liked the outcome.
