I hope this is the year for the Bama softball team. I really thought they had the best team last year but fell short.
This could be the year of champions: Football, Gymnastics and softball.

I am ready for softball. Let the season begin.

We only lose two players off last years team but they were two good ones. Pitcher Kelsi Dunne and shortstop Whitney Larsen. We will miss these ladies but Murphy is a great recruiter and he has good players waiting their chance for playing time. Another big change this year is we have a new pitching coach. Former Tide player Stephanie VanBrakle replaced Vann Stuedeman.

Roll Tide!

LeeWillie may be able to give us some insight on the Lipscomb team.  They've been tough the last few years.

Lipscomb should have another good team this year lead by senior 4-year starting pitcher Whitney Kihnl, and backed up by a 6' 2" lefty red shirt freshman.  Lipscomb had only one senior on last years team and has added transfer Kelsie Cartwright who was Auburns starting 2nd baseman.  I think they are expected to win the Atlantic Sun Conference.

The last score that I heard was Bama up 6-0 in the 4th.

Bama wins 8-0 via the mercy rule in 5 innings. Traina was the winning pitcher and Locke had a home run and also drove in the 8th run with a two out hit off the wall in left field for the Tide.

Bama will play Lipscomb in their next game tomorrow at 3 p.m then will play South Alabama at 5:30 p.m.

That our girls! Another season, another mercy killing. I don't see any drop off in the program coming. We lost two very good players so we just reload and move on.

Traina as a freshman last year showed she's got a rocket arm. She could very well be our shutdown pitcher this year. I'm glad Murphy came to his senses and stayed at Bama. Great job, girls!

In talking with him he said it didn't take very long for him to realize what a mistake he had made and the hard part was finding a respectable way to back out of it.

What in the world possessed him to even consider going to whoville, or did he say?

It was an ego thing plus a promise of anything that he wanted down there but when he had to say goodbye to his players, he couldn't do it.
