Senior Amanda Locke collected three hits and sophomore pitcher Jackie Traina allowed just one as the Alabama softball team downed Memphis, 8-0, in five innings Friday afternoon at Jaguar Field. With the win the Crimson Tide improves to 11-5 in opening day games and has now won seven of its last eight openers.

I hope they took along some "long handles" with them on the trip, it's going to be cold this afternoon.

It sure will, J. A high of 52 and very windy with a low of 25. That will be the coldest night of the year for us, and I'm guessing pretty much everywhere.

Yeah, they're talking about being in the 30's here this afternoon with a very strong wind. The chill factor will definitly come into play at the game. Maybe Bama can enact the mercy rule against their foes and go home early today.  ;)
