Bama plays it's second game of the season after their 8-0 win over Memphis yesterday. Bama will also play South Alabama immediatly following the Lipscomb game.

Bama's start time with Lipscomb has been pushed back due to the length of the game preceding theirs.

Bama opened the scoring in the second with Branham driving in Gibson from second with a hit and the Braud came through with a 2 run double. Braud then scored on a wild ptich to make it 4-0.

Bama leads 4-0 going into the bottom of the second.

Sewell is pitching for Bama.

Lipscomb took advantage of 3 walks and a hit and scored 1

We are hard to beat when you spot us a 4-0 lead. Lipscomb has a good team. Leewillie said yesterday they are expected to win thier conference.

Lipscomb has scored three runs in the third and are still batting with a runner on 3rd. Freshman Jury coming in to pitch for Bama. Bama leads 4-3.

Bama takes a 7-3 lead. Lipscomp coming to bat in the bottom of the 4th.

Lipscomb gets 1 run in the 4th. Bama leads 7-4 coming to bat in the 5th.

Bama gets two more. we lead 9-4 with Lipscomb batting in the bottom of the 5th.

Bama is up 13-4 with no outs, still batting in the 6th

We are up 14-4 now. Still batting in the top of the 6th. If we hold them in the bottom og the inning we will have anothe mercy rule win.

Bama is up 15-4. Lipscomp needs to score some runs in the bottom of the 6th or this game is over.

The bats came alive today.  Lipscomb is not a bad team.  Our offense looked great.  Glad to see Murphy clear the bench in the last innings.

Bama wins 15-4, will play South Alabama in about 45 mins.

Yeah Bama had a lot of offense and Jury did a good job pitching being it was her first game.
Sewell, the starting pitcher, just can't throw strikes hopefully she can get that turned around as the season progresses. Sewell had this same problem last year.

Bama gets 5 in the top of the first on an Amanda Locke 2 run shot and a 2 run double by Conley.

I had high hopes that Sewell would find her groove and be ready to be a reliable 2nd game stater.  Didn't look good tonight.  Too many walks will kill a pitcher and it was her undoing tonight.

Jury looked good for a first time out, then again, the only run she allowed was a girl she had walked.  I hate walks, rather give up a base hit than a walk.

Bottom of 1st, Triana gives up a leadoff single, then strikes out next three batters.

She is a hard thrower, I'm anxious to see if Van Braekle can develop her into a smart pitcher with some good offspeed stuff as the season grows.

Traina has given up two hits and struck out 7 in 3 innings pitched.

I hope out bats stay as hot as they have been this weekend.

I'm somewhat surprised at how well they have it with the wweather being what it is. From all I've read and heard, Bama should be better offensively this year and I think they were right. Traina is throwing a gem tonight.

Jackie Traina pitched a very good game tonight, walked m1, gave up 2 hits, struck out 8, and faced 16 batters in 4 innings. Amanda Locke has relieved Traina for the last inning of the game.

Bama has completely outmached all of the teams in the tournament so far, with a lot of offense that most folks predicted they would have this year. My only dissappointment has been that Sewell didn't have a good outing pitching, BBs got her in trouble again. She could be a big help to this team because this pitching staff is very young and Traina isn't a Kelsi Dunne just yet. Jury relieved Sewell and pitched 3+ innings and did a great job. This is a senior based team this year but the young ones will make up the pitching staff.
