Title: Tide's JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell; UPDATED Post by: pmull on February 20, 2012, 12:41:40 PM Quote JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell still are on the outside looking in on the Alabama basketball team. The suspended veteran forwards are not likely to play Thursday at Arkansas, Alabama coach Anthony Grant said Monday morning on the Southeastern Conference coaches' teleconference. "I don't anticpate them being available," Grant said. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/02/tides_jamychal_green_and_tony_1.html :deadhorse: Title: Re: Tide's JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell unlikely to play Thursday at Arkansas Post by: Chechem on February 20, 2012, 12:45:40 PM :( :( :( :( :(
Title: Re: Tide's JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell unlikely to play Thursday at Arkansas Post by: ALTideUp on February 20, 2012, 03:00:24 PM Of course, we don't know al the details of these suspensions. However, from the perspective of public opinion I think coach has got to be careful not to overplay his hand. At some point he needs to put those guys in at the end of a game like Saturday's, celebrating the hardworking youngsters who got the win by pulling them off as a unit, and signifying the return of Green and Mitchell by letting them mop up the last 5 minutes. Then the next game not starting them but rotating them in. But who knows, maybe coach doesn't yet know if he'll let them back at all.

Title: Re: Tide's JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell; UPDATED Post by: Jamos on February 20, 2012, 03:26:40 PM In regard to the opinions of those that think that CAG needs to give a public statement about the suspensions because of public opinion, I totally disagree with that. CAG doesn't owe me an explanation for anything that he does with the basketball program nor any other fan or anyone else. Sometimes the best way to say something is not to say anything at all and in a disciplinary issue, the problem is between the player and the coach, not the public and the coach and it should be addressed that way.
If Green does come back to the team, he would be the one of the two that can contribute more to the success of the team in the games to come. I don't know what Mitchell did but it must have been something very bad for his suspension to last this long. These young ones deserve a good break for all of their efforts to keep this team together, hopefully Green will be the leader that he is capable of on his return and get this team to the Big Dance. Roll Tide!! Title: Re: Tide's JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell; UPDATED Post by: Marshal Dillon on February 20, 2012, 04:04:12 PM I'm just trying to figure out what Mitchell could have done to be suspended for half a season & Greene for 3 or 4 games? We have seen guys get in fights on the court, arrested for DUI, and other behavior. What the heck to you do to get suspended like Mitchell?

Also, in more recent news, I thought the bow tie made it look like some else dresssed him for his big publicity show! Not a good time for a "clothes horse" show off. JMHO
