INDIANAPOLIS - Because of recent minor knee surgery, former Alabama running back Trent Richardson will not participate in drills on the field Sunday at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to an NFL Network report.

Richardson, regarded as the No. 1 running back available in the 2012 NFL draft, had minor arthroscopic surgery approximately three weeks ago to repair damage that he suffered in a practice before the Jan. 9 BCS Championship Game, said the network, citing an NFL source.

 :( I wasn't aware of any injury.

Trent injured his knee just before the BCSNC, and played the game with the injury.  This explains why Lacy carried the ball more than usual, and really is a jab at LSU (again).

He gained 96 yards against LSU on one leg!

Kudos to TR.

It did get really annoying when the announcers kept questioning why Bama was taking Trent out of the game.  Coaches knew what they were doing, just no public announcement.

If TR was coming back for his senior year this thread would be 10 pages long by now. Hopefully it is not too serious and he will be back at full speed very soon. Hankerson had his knee scoped and he was playing basketball within a week.

It doesn't sound too serious; he played in the BCSCG with it.  He wants to be at 100% for NFL evaluators, and he'll get his chances later this year.
