It will be a war (again) if Ole Miss plays like they did in their win at Arkansas this week.  OM plays tough defense, has quick guards, and has limited scoring outside.  They'll push the ball into the paint and crash the boards.

And they'll play zone (Duh!).  May be an overtime game.  Fingernails at the ready.

Funny.  I thought this sounded familiar.  I said the same thing before we played Ole Miss last month:

I think Ole Miss is as good as Alabama, at least right now.  I expect a war.

We played into double overtime!

IMO we are in the tournament as a 10 or 11 seed. Each win from here on out moves up our seed. An Ole Miss win and 1 win in the SEC gets us to about a 7 seed. We realy need this Ole Miss win today. A win today eliminates all bubble talk and puts us in a better first round matchup.

I don't know our record in the last 20 years playing at The Tad Pad but it is not good. Ole Miss will play us tough but this is a winable game. We are playing much better than when we beat them in double OT in Tuscaloosa. A road win against a top 100 RPI team will look pretty good. That would also be 10-6 in SEC play with a finish of 8-2 in our final 10 games.

Hopefully some of the aches and pains on the team have healed some, that makes our chances of winning a little better. After the Auburn game someone was wondering why Engstrom and Gueye didn't play more, per CAG's press conference this week, Engstrom was suffering from a knee injury that I was unaware of. Gueye already sees limited playing time due to his injury. We could sure use more playing time from Lacey today. Roll Tide!!

What kept Ole Miss in the game with us at Coleman was their outside shooting and back door cuts. They aren't known as a good outside shooting team, so they may have been a little lucky there and I don't see them shooting well twice in a row against us. I also think those back door cuts were open due to us covering the outside shooting. I think we have better results in those areas.

Conversely, we need to hit from the outside, because Ole Miss plays good defense and, as mentioned, will play zone, making it tough to score down low. The way I see it, we need a great game, particularly from Releford and JG. Some timely 3's from maybe Cooper, Hankerson and Randolph would go a long way as well.

I predicted a blowout last time and kudos to Chech, who has regularly reminded us of his dead-on prediction  ;) , so I'm grabbing his coattails this time and predicting a war in Oxford. RTR!!!
