Title: Alabama welcomes No. 14 Missouri to the SEC with convincing gymnastics victory
Post by: pmull on March 10, 2012, 07:07:32 AM
Fourth-ranked Alabama welcomed Missouri to the SEC with a convincing victory in gymnastics Friday.

Alabama posted a 197.175-195.375 victory, hitting the 197 plateau for the fifth time in six meets.

Before a crowd of 12,936 at Coleman Coliseum, Alabama overcame a shaky start on the beam in the third rotation. Marissa Gutierrez, who scored a career-high 9.95 to open the meet in the vault, slipped. But the next five Crimson Tide competitors soared through routines to void the low score.

Their only loss was a 197.300 to 197.150 loss at Oklahoma. They are ranked 4th nationally.

The loss came AT Oklahoma who is ranked # 2. We have beaten several top 10 teams this year. We could very easily repeat as SEC and NCAA Champions.
