Bama up 1-0 Title: Re: No. 1 Softball Heads to the Pacific Northwest Post by: Leewillie on March 13, 2012, 08:10:10 PM After 4 complete innings Bama leads 1-0
The only hit of the game was Reilly-Boccia's homerun. Oregon has had only 1 base runner, a walk in the 3rd inning. Traina seems to be on top of her game. Title: Re: No. 1 Softball Heads to the Pacific Northwest Post by: Leewillie on March 13, 2012, 08:16:03 PM Bama fails to score in top of 5th
Oregon pitcher has 10 strikeouts in 5 innings. Title: Re: No. 1 Softball Heads to the Pacific Northwest Post by: Jamos on March 13, 2012, 08:22:06 PM C'mon ladies, we need more than 1 run.

Take a 5-1 lead Double by Braud, infield single by Fenton, walks to Boccia and Traina and a double by Hunt. Good inning ladies Title: Re: No. 1 Softball Heads to the Pacific Northwest Post by: pmull on March 13, 2012, 08:56:17 PM Bama scores 4 in top of 6th. Take a 5-1 lead Double by Braud, infield single by Fenton, walks to Boccia and Traina and a double by Hunt. Good inning ladies The Ducks intentionally walked Boccia to load the bases with only one out. I don't think I would have done that. ??? They turn around and walk Traina to score a run and Hunt gets the big hit. Title: Re: No. 1 Softball Heads to the Pacific Northwest Post by: Leewillie on March 13, 2012, 08:56:59 PM Traina sets them down 1-2-3 in the 6th

We need 3 quick out for a great road win against a quality opponent. I am following the game on Gametracker. She was walked on 4 pitches and it said she was intentionally walked. It makes more sense that they walked her after a 3-0 count. End of 2, Bama leads 6-3 The game has been called after 2 because of the rain Bama remains 22-0 Title: Re: No. 1 Softball Heads to the Pacific Northwest Post by: Leewillie on March 14, 2012, 09:19:55 PM Playing conditions wewe less than ideal. Both teams had already made a couple of thowing errors because of the wet field and light rain falling. Two of Portland States runs were a direct result of Bama throwing errors on routine ground balls on the infield. PS also had a couple of untimely errors, I would have thought that they being from the Pacific Northwest would be use to playing in the rain.
There was also a large contingent of Kayla Braud family and friend who had come from Eugene after last nights game. I'm sure they enjoyed last nights game and getting to see their hometown girl playing for the #1 team in the nation. They found a way to keep us from winning. Order up a rain storm. ;)
That was a long trip to Oregon to play one game. We return to Tuscaloosa for our first home SEC series of the year against Ole Miss. |
