Title: Coach Hank Crisp has passed away
Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 20, 2012, 04:34:39 PM
Does anyone know what happened to him?  He has not been on here in over a month.  I hope his health is OK.

UPDATE:  I found his obituary.  I will not post his real name out of respect for his family.

WV, 2Stater and I posted recently that he has not logged on in over a month. None of us know where he is. WV knew his name so I tried to look up his phone number but I could not locate him.

Has anyone sent him a PM?  I might try that if no one else has yet.

I tried that a couple of weeks ago. No response.

I found his obituary.  He was last online on 2/17 at 12:27:14 AM.  His obituary states that he died on 2/17.  It does not say what happened.

Definitely bizarre, but they say bad things happen in 3's, but let's hope we don't lose anyone else for a long time. Taz under 40 and Crisp is 55, wow!

I have been concerned about Hank for several weeks now. It is hard to believe he is no longer with us. Hank and I shared a lot in common. We both have kids that are high school seniors this year. l posted with him often. He and I both liked to discuss HS football.

I know Hank had a son and at least 1 daughter. My prayers go out to his family.

Rest in Peace Hank. You will be missed.

I remember your conversations about HS football and your children. He and I pm'd and e-mailed back and forth a lot. Got to know him pretty well. He thought a lot of you, P. He seemed to be a great guy who completely embraced life. It is, indeed, another sad day. I too will miss him.

I hope Coach Hank Crisp, the poster, can be resurrected. I do not believe the poster is dead. If he does not show back up on this board, consider this poster dead.I need to find a place where more married women keep up with Alabama football, anyway.   Hank was an asset to this forum.

There is no doubt that he has passed away.  Several of us know his real name and where he lives, and we have seen the obituary.  There is another guy on a different forum that posts under a similar screen name, but our guy has definitely passed away.

We knew he hadn't been around in a while, but I just assumed he was OK.  Then when we got the shocking news yesterday about Taz, I decided I had better track him down and check on him just in case.  I was hoping to discover that he was just busy and didn't have time to get on here.

As a fellow married gal, these guys are as good as you are going to get on a sports board.  The preacher would hit them with his walker (or a good Bible verse) if they got too rowdy.  They are completely respectful and this is THE only Alabama sports forum I would let my 8 year old read.  I think you're confused about the situation- Coach Hank Crisp was just a username...not the real name.  There might be another CHC on another board, but it's not the same poster who was one of us.

I have been missing Hank for several weeks. I asked around to a few folks and that is how I found out his real name from WV. I went to WoollyAl just to see if maybe he left us and started posting over there. I found CoachCrisp and thought it was him. I read a few posts and could tell quickly it was not the same guy. Hank make over 6000 posts on this board and I read most of them. There is no doubt in my mind Hank is gone to be with the Lord. RIP Hank.

I haven't been here in a little while because of work.  Something told me to sign on today. I know now WHO told me to sign on.

I am in total shock over the loss of 2 wonderful men. I didn't know either of them personally but it doesn't matter. Tears are falling down my face now for the families and friends of both Taz and CHC.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and all of our CRS family. I, too, wish there was something we could do here at CRS.

As a married woman who loves football - this makes football seem rather insignificant.

God bless all of my CRS family and friends.

Love and Peace to all of you.

SC, it is admirable that you and others on the board worry about those who suddenly stop posting and you then begin to check on them. This shows that we are a real forum family that is close and always concerned about our people.

I second that, OT. We have our differences on here sometimes, but I have never been part of another board that bares the burdens of the other members like this one does. Heck, I have never met ANY of you face-to-face, but I feel like I have a number of really close friends on here, and that is why Taz's and Hank's deaths have really moved me. Kudos to SC, all the mods, and everyone else that has made this an enjoyable first year at CRS

I feel the same way. After posting back and forth with people for so long, you really get to know them. This is a great forum and we all seem to know when someone has been gone a little too long and we begin to inquire about them. Hell, we even worried about WV one time (chortle). The passing of our 2 comrades have stunned and saddened the members of this forum, collectively and I dare say, I don't think that would happen, to this degree, with any other forum that I'm familiar with. SC, we 'preciate ya for assembling such a great pacle. 'Preciate all you posters here as well.

I am saddened by all of the untimely deaths that have been occurring recently.  Tonight I attended the visitation for the sister of a friend of mine.  She had an artery that leaked into the base of her brain, and she died of a massive stroke.  She was 35 and had a husband and 2 children.  May God comfort the families of all who are mourning the loss of their loved ones.

I was looking at some of the PM's exchanged between CHC and myself, when I found this, as we were exchanging stories about our daughters when they were younger. I know he wouldn't mind me sharing this. Funny story:

"I have a short story about my daughter when she was 4-5 years old. One of my friends came over to visit. After a while I got my daughter's favorite cookies out to share with my friend. We were eating them when she came into the kitchen. She looked at him and asked "do you like cookies" he replied yes he did. Then she said " you need to buy you some"!"
