Title: Chipper Jones to retire following 2012 season Post by: shady_d4 on March 22, 2012, 09:15:30 AM He will be missed. He was a fixture for the Braves for a long long time. Probably the last time a player will stay with one franchise from draft to retirement.

It won't seem right to not see Chipper at 3rd next season. He has been an amazing player to watch, and my hat is off to him and all he has done for the Braves. I just really hope that he doesn't have a bad year this year to end his career.

Chipper is one of the few ball players that has lived up to his hype coming out of the minors. A lot of seats have been filled because of him. I would like nothing better than to see him go out on a healthy, productive year. His batting average has dropped and his injuries have increased. He had a good run, it is time for him to move on and open up a roster spot for the next young gun coming along.

I agree, but he's been injured every year since 2007. I am happy he announced 2012 is his last year and I hope it's not another lost year due to some nagging injury. :wall: |
