Don't look now, but the Big Ten may be back.

Not this season, necessarily, but very soon.

That's true, at least if you put stock in recruiting, because the Big Ten is making up ground in recruiting this year.

Want proof? In the Rivals100 rankings for 2013, the SEC leads the way with 15 early commitments from the elite list. That's not shocking. But what is surprising is that the Big Ten ranks second with 13....

Yep, that will be the new mantra from the media, THE BIG TEN IS BACK! Of course, they still have to prove it on the field, which is where the problem will still be obvious. As long as they play Indiana, Minnesota, Iowa, Youngstown State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, & other such "powers," they will be able to always have 6 or 7 gimme victories.

Ed Zachary! Once they get their tail beat by the SEC in the NC game, assuming one of them gets that far, or better yet, when Bama spanks Meechegan's butt in the first game, all we'll witness is  :-X.

The East-coast bias leads to these stories.
More appropriate this year to say, "USC is back", but none of the contenders ha proven they can beat any SEC contender.

Yep, the Eastern/Northeast media slobbered over Big Ten football for 40 years telling us how great it was. It never mattered that they constantly got whipped in the Rose Bowl, it was still Big Ten football. It didn't matter that there were only 2 football teams in the conference, it was still the mighty BIG TEN. Now, after being slapped around so much by the SEC, they had to pull back for about 5 years, but now the hype is starting, again.

They are on their way back... on their way back to being overhyped and horrible.  The last couple of seasons they were just horrible.

Michigan and Ohio State needs to get better than Wisconsin before they worry about the SEC.

Don't forget Michigan State, they have improved dramatically over the past 5 years.

You say Michigan State has improved. I say the top of the Big Ten has dropped down to Michigan State's level.

Good point and you may be right. I want to see how MSU does the next couple of years to see if you are right.
