Title: Alabama Will Work In Pads For The First Time This Spring Today Post by: pmull on March 25, 2011, 08:33:37 AM Alabama’s spring drills take a noticeably more serious step today when the Crimson Tide puts on full pads for the first time.
The first two practices are required as non-contact days. Nose tackle Josh Chapman says he’s looking forward to the change. “Having just jerseys on, you can’t really do much,” the senior from Hoover said. “When you start getting pads on and get to poppin’, that’s when the fun comes in.” Chapman said the pace picks up dramatically. He still recalls his first workout in pads when he was a freshman. “First time I put the pads on was with (now Houston Texans offensive lineman) Antoine Caldwell,” Chapman said. “I realized what’s the real deal when it comes to putting pads on in college football. Having just jerseys on, it’s light. Get to see how fast Hightower is again with pads now that he's fully healthy and he's def ready to hit somebody, get to see how ridiculously fast Dee Hart is in pads, we already know Kenny Bell and DeAndrew White are fast in pads but I'm excited to see both connect on some deep routes, also of course we're all excited to see Jesse Williams and Quinton Dial and some one on one drills with Aaron Douglas, he was talking trash with Courtney and Hightower yesterday saying "you think I'm a bad man now, you haven't seen me in pads yet" and I'm also excited to see a few guys that look like possible new starters on D like Ed Stinson back on the DL and Dequan Menzie We're gonna have some fun today Title: Re: Alabama Will Work In Pads For The First Time This Spring Today Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 25, 2011, 11:50:56 AM Check you PM Toxik when you get a chance.
