Title: Who knew Bobby Petrino would have so much in common with Mike DuBose?

When Alabama came to this crossroads in the summer of 1999, DuBose hadn't done much winning in his two years as head coach. He'd gone 4-7 in his first season and 7-5 in his second, including a 38-7 bowl loss. If he'd built up any capital, it was from his days as a player under Bear Bryant and a respected assistant.
Given plenty of reason to fire him, Alabama instead took the $360,000 cost of settling the lawsuit out of his earnings, froze his salary and cut two years from his contract.
It was the first week of August, you know. No reason to disrupt fall camp.
A few months later, Alabama celebrated an unlikely SEC championship when DuBose and company beat Steve Spurrier and Florida for the second time that season.
Petrino's credibility - at least as a football coach - is much higher in Arkansas at his moment of crisis than DuBose's was in Alabama. The Hogs have gone 21-5 the last two years. They lost only to Alabama and LSU last year. They're expected to be national title contenders this year.

He makes a good point here. I don't see them firing Petrino, at least not immediately. If this incident causes problems with recruiting, then I can see him getting "DuBosed".
