Title: Courtney Upshaw
Post by: bama87 on April 17, 2012, 07:28:47 PM
Why is CU falling in the mock drafts. Is because of pro day times. He has a motor that doesn't stop. I still think he is a legit 1st rounder.

Most I've looked at show him as mid to late first round. One thing I've noticed is that the talking heads in the media are now trying to push the 2nd tier QB's that aren't Luck or RGIII to the first round. QB's that probably won't play a down like Tannehill and Weeden.

I agree.  These mock drafts have a lot of skill players, but the NFL tends to draft guys for the trenches and defensive players earlier than these mock drafts project.

I just heard the tail end of an interview Brando had with CU. He handled himself very well. Brando asked him what Saban does to get so much from his players and how he prepares players for the next level, particularly in life. CU said most people don't know the real CNS, that he cuts up with the players and is a very cool dude. He said when CNS recruited him, he visited him in his home and told him that he was going to develop him as a player and as a person at Alabama. That he could be prepared to succeed in the NFL or in life generally, when he left Bama. CU addded that CNS told the truth. He said he felt like he is a much better person for it, and will represent himself that way in the NFL.

Man that is what we all thought about CNS. Young recruits should listen to him and know that CNS will leave them out there after football. RTR!
