Title: Coach Spurrier Proposes New Method to Pick SEC Divisional Champs
Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 18, 2012, 01:16:52 PM
I think Spurrier is just trying to keep his name in the papers, since he's no longer the coach he used to be.

It is not a bad idea. It is a balanced scheduled if you only count leauge games in your divison. It is going to get worse as the SEC grows to 16 teams. I don't think it will happen but it is a reasonable proposal.

Knowing all the issues he had with Garcia, he should have developed Shaw to be the starter all year. IMO, if he does that, they don't lose to the barn.

Spurrier always tries to get his digs in.

I think this is a good idea, especially with the newly expanded intradivisional schedule.

This is a pretty good idea, but I don't think I would credit it to Spurrier.  He may be the one pushing for it now but it has come up before.  2010 when we lost to South Carolina early in the season comes to mind.

I see the it won't pass because he said it! I think he is getting old age problems. I use to think he was a good coach at Fla. even though I wanted Fla. to get beat. Now, I think he a very bad disease called meitus! RTR!

October 19 . Early in the season? Alabama played the Barn about a month later.

My bad.  Middle of the season I guess.  It was one of our first "real" games that year.

Yeah. Just coaches those pitiful Carolina Gamecocks. Lousy team barely finished

in the Top 10(9) in 2011. SOB must be senile.

Depends on how we do in Atlanta. Even though ga. got ole Mess at home and we have to go to Baton Rouge (after the refiguring because of A & M and Mizzou) . We will win the East. If we beat Alabama we will win our first NCAA Championship in football.

Looking forward to it. I hope Alabama gets a BCS Bowl too. #+

CSS's idea would be like MLB deciding interleague games don't count in the dividional standings, or the NFL saying interconf games don't count.  Doesn't work.  I could see some kind of tiebreaker being based on the divisional record but not sure if that's practical either. ( Maybe it's already there for all I know.)
