CSP does a great job with the gymnastics program. We are consistantly one of the top programs in the country. This years team is capable of winning another NCAA Championshion.

CSP expects a lot from these ladies in the gym, classroom and community. When they introduce the team before home meets they give out the GPA of each girl. This years team has yet another Elite 89 winner. This award goes to the student athlete that has the highest GPA participating at the final site for each of the NCAA's 89 championships.

Quote
For the third year in a row, an Alabama gymnast has earned the NCAA's Elite 89 Award, and for the second year in a row, that gymnast was All-American Rachel Terry, who carries a perfect 4.0 GPA for her career

The senior from Hoover, Ala., was presented with the award, which goes to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average participating at the final site for each of the NCAA's 89 championships, during Thursday's NCAA Championship Banquet.

"I think it is a testament to the ideals that are most important to this program that one of our ladies has earned the Elite 89 Award in each of its first three years in existence," Patterson said. "It speaks volumes about the level of excellence that our ladies aspire to on a daily basis."

I posted this video of the team being introduced back on January 13 when Alabama beat Geogia. It is one of the best introductions I have every seen in any sport.

Big beam start puts Tide gymnasts in position to repeat as national champion for first time.

Quote
DULUTH, Georgia - An extraordinary start Friday night has helped put the Alabama gymnastics team in position for an historic finish Saturday night.

In its opening event, the fourth-seeded Crimson Tide recorded its best balance beam score in 10 years and went on to win the evening semifinals session of the NCAA Championships, edging top-seeded Florida.

Alabama finished with the best score of either session - 197.675 - and defeated Florida by 0.025 points, the smallest margin possible.

Tonight, the Tide will attempt to win a second consecutive national championship for the first time in the history of a program that has won five NCAA titles.

Sarah Patterson wins her 6th National Championship. That equals Bear Bryant's 6 National Championships. Who hired CSP? Bear did.
