I do not like the selection committee idea.  It works with a 64 team basketball tourney because all the obviously good teams will get in.  But a committee picking only 4 teams opens the door for all sorts of political bias to become a factor.

Also glad to see Slive is standing tough against the "conf champs only" idea.  I don't see why any conf would want this.  As conf's get larger it gets more probable that any of them could have two teams in the top 4, only one of which could be conf champ.  Maybe they should have more faith in their teams.
