Center William Vlachos and cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick were named the most underrated and overrated players in the Draft at their positions, respectively, by Mandel in his SI column. While Kirkpatrick is on pace to be chosen in the first round, the column stands as a rare but encouraging public mention for Vlachos heading into the Draft.

"Someone please explain how one of the cogs of two national championship offenses is deemed a seventh-round prospect, if that," Mandel said of Vlachos, a former Rimington Award-finalist....

I think the Boston College LB is the most overrated player.  Sure, he put up good numbers, but watching him play it is clear that he doesn't have Hightower's speed.  I think he will be exposed in the NFL.

I agree Vlachos is underrated. The team that uses a late round pick on him will be very pleased with that pick 10 years from now.

Kirkpatrick became a lock down corner this year. He has the speed and height the NFL looks for. He is also a hard hitter and good tackler. Anyone who is questioning his ability must not have seen how much he improved last year. He was outstanding. However, if they want to question his character I can understand that.

Good luck to both these guys. I hope they make the big money and have long NFL careers.
