Title: Softball Falls at Fordham, 8-5, in Regular Season Finale
Post by: Jamos on May 07, 2012, 09:05:57 PM
Sometimes I have to question CPM's mentality concerning Bama's scheduling. Why, oh why, was this game scheduled the next day after the big series with Florida, plus the SEC tournament starts Thursday.  ???  :dunno:

Well how many regulars were not playing and resting? It figures Coach would give them a rest since all the big games the last few days. Now they can play for NC Trophy. RTR!

I think this is accurate Ricky.  I know that I saw an update where one of our players scored, and it was someone whom I have never heard of before.  Admittedly, I don't follow the team as closely as Jamos and some of the other guys, but I recognize most of the main players.

I checked the box score and we played the normal starters except at 2nd base and RF. CPM has substituted a lot at those positions all year. Jury and Lock pitched and they have struggled a good bit this entire year.

I agree with Jamos. This was a strange place to put this road trip in our schedule. As most people know the game was scheduled to get Cassie Reilly-Boccia a game close to her home town. I think it is great of CPM to do that for the girls but why now. We just came off the biggest SEC series of the year against Florida and have the SEC Tournament starting Thursday. Add to that the team left for New York almost immediately after the Florida game on Sunday and went sightseeing Sunday night and all day Monday with the game starting at 5:00 Monday night. It was no surprise to me we did not play our best and lost this game.

But who am I to question CPM? I am sure he with have the team ready to play Miss State on Thursday night.
