Quote You'd never know it, but Adam Griffith didn't know what a football was until he was 13. That's because he bounced around from orphanage to orphanage while living in Poland until he was adopted and came to the United States. "I played soccer all my life. When I was in Poland, I'd never seen a football. I'd never heard of football. So when I got here, I played soccer, and then I tried to kick a football. It was no big deal. It was just like kicking a soccer ball. It wasn't that hard. So that's what I started kicking." Griffith kicks a football so well now that he'll be a scholarship player for the University of Alabama this fall. In Griffith's mind, his greatest strength is his ability to kick the football deep enough into the end zone on kickoffs that opponents don't even attempt to return it. On the other hand, Griffith knows he could stand to improve on his accuracy with field goals.... |
