Title: I am amazed at Sunseri
Post by: SeniorTSM on May 21, 2012, 09:10:37 AM
I know we saw what he could do last year, but I was really surprised how well he performed in spring and the fact that he pushed Ha ha for playing time. this is a very smart kid that is playing his heart out.

I have very high hopes for him.

When you grow up with a dad who makes you do a "Swim Move" just to get to the fridge for a snack, well...it happens.... ;D

Many people, myself included, was wondering why CNS signed a LB his size. We found out the reason was to turn in into an All-American safety.

I thought Sunseri was undersized when he was signed, but he makes up for it with incredible energy, being around the ball, and sheer tenacity. He's going to be a major player when he starts. He is a hard hitter and will be the kinda guy who makes things happen.

Such a hitter that I fear he'll get injured.  He's fun to watch!

Yeah, I was going to say that, but forgot to. I really worry that he will injure himself due to his almost reckless abandon on the field.

I remember Coach Bryant used to say, when he recruited a kid, that he wished he could 'see inside them and see how big their heart is'.  Vinnie has a VERY big heart. That boy is a football player. A player like Vinnie is valuable for what he can do on the field, but probably even more valuable for what he can inspire his teammates to do on the field. One guy like Vinnie can fire up the whole team and when that fire starts, somebody is going to get burned.  RTR

You stand less of a chance for injury by outhitting your opponent. The momentum of the impact goes in your direction, --not against you.

Try driving your momentum-loaded head into a stationary concrete wall, professor.   :wall:

HTH

Sure, but only if you agree that I get to slam you in the head with a concrete block, from the same wall, while you stand still.  I promise, you will have more damage than I.

You are making and apples to oranges comparison. ( More like apples to bricks, but I didn't want to include a cheesy pun).

This is one of the reasons that CNS teaches "Finish" including "Finish the play" You have a much less chance of injury if you are the aggressor, at 100% momentum, w/o letting up.

And all the "stationary concrete walls" are on our side!

I see physics is not our strong point here.

"3 semesters of physics down the drain."  (or whatever the quote was in Animal House)
