Fresh off his commitment to Alabama last week, Salt Lake City quarterback Cooper Bateman headed to Oakland, California, over the weekend to participate in a regional qualifying event for the Elite 11, the nation's most prestigious quarterback competition that over the years has featured future stars like Matt Leinart, Tim Tebow and Vince Young.

Bateman was competing alongside a number of elite quarterback prospects looking to secure themselves a spot in the Elite 11 national finals later this summer, including USC commit Max Browne. But one detail set Bateman apart from his fellow competitors: he had already qualified for the finals.

After earning his qualifying spot back in March at the Dallas regional, Bateman decided he wanted to continue testing his skills against some of the nation's best quarterbacks ...

i like the comment about great feet.  In my opinion many qb mistakes are because they don't move use their feet especially when coming off their first read.

I agree.  Especially since this guy plays shotgun in HS.
