Title: Roll Tide continued
Post by: 2Stater on March 26, 2011, 06:54:39 PM
Back on the TS forum a thread was started about pacles outside of Alabama that people will look at you and say Roll Tide! when you're wearing Bama attire. I am in Greenville, SC finishing up business before I go back to P'cola. My wife, oldest daughter and I went to downtown Greenville to watch a blues band and I was wearing a Bama sweatshirt as it was cool last night. I'm guessing 8-10 people saw me and said Roll Tide! as they passed by or when we were in a couple of the stores. It just reminded me that there is no greater feeling in the world for people to acknowledge the Tide, doesn't matter where you are.

Roll Tide!   Roll Tide!   Roll Tide!   Roll Tide!   Roll Tide!   Roll Tide!   Roll Tide!

When the missus and I were living in Maryland, we attended a church that was about 20 minutes from where we lived. As we were driving home after services one Sunday, I noticed a car riding behind me and it looked like he was reading something or sasying something to his passenger. I paid it no mind at first. I have a UA sticker in the back windshield. He then pulls up beside me and motions to roll my window down. I thought he was going to say I had a flat tire or something. I rolled down my window as we were driving, and he let out a big "ROLL TIDE!!!" I, of course, returned the greeting. My wife and I got a big chuckle out of that. Proves that everywhere you go is Tide Nation. RTR!!!

When we were stationed in the Philippines, I had more people come up to me and say Roll Tide than I ever imagined. One young Airman was such a huge Bear fan. I remember the day that Coach Bryant passed, he came to our house and just bawled.  Bama fans love our football but we love our people too. It's not just about the football to those of us who love Alabama. :)

Hopefully nobody threw a "War Eagle" at you. They're starting to flap a little more these days.

The only tiger fans you see in these parts are the Clemson type.
