Title: Five-star UGA running back commit considering switch to Alabama Post by: pmull on June 11, 2012, 10:34:28 AM Quote Alabama's efforts to steal a five-star running back away from the Georgia Bulldogs may be one step closer to happening after the Crimson Tide hosted Bulldog commitment Derrick Henry over the weekend for an unofficial recruiting visit. Henry, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound running back from Yulee, Florida, is among the most coveted offensive prospects in the country in the Class of 2013. He has been committed to Mark Richt and UGA since July of 2011. A steady and unrelenting pursuit from Nick Saban and his staff, however, has kept the Tide in the running for the elite athlete, and as recently as a month ago, Henry told recruiting websites that he was reconsidering his commitment to the Bulldogs. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/06/five-star_uga_running_back_com.html Title: Re: Five-star UGA running back commit considering switch to Alabama Post by: BAMAWV on June 11, 2012, 10:53:08 AM (http://media.al.com/sports_impact/photo/11162493-large.jpg)

Does anybody know where we stand right now? We're #1 until beaten. Among the 5 states? Looks like we have 2 so far. Title: Re: Five-star UGA running back commit considering switch to Alabama Post by: crtuneman on June 13, 2012, 08:12:01 AM Do want. I didn't think he was that fast at first but when he turned the corner at around the 1:00 mark he burned all of those guys. And he's so big. If we steal this kid from Ga it will be huge. All I can say is wow.
Title: Re: Five-star UGA running back commit considering switch to Alabama Post by: pmull on June 13, 2012, 03:03:22 PM Henry is no longer a UGA commit. CNS and staff will be all over this kid until signing day. I like our chances.
Quote Yulee, Florida running back Derrick Henry made big news over the weekend when the Georgia commit visited Tuscaloosa and tweeted that he would soon be making an announcement regarding his recruitment. Today, that announcement came in the form of a statement from Henry in which the five-star running back prospect declared that he is no longer committed to Georgia. http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2012/06/5-star_rb_derrick_henry_de-com.html Title: Re: Five-star UGA running back commit considering switch to Alabama Post by: ricky023 on June 13, 2012, 04:23:28 PM Yes I saw this on Bleacher Report but I know not many people hold with their topics so I didn't post. Now, on the good side, I don't know when he is going to commit, but I do believe when he signs that National Letter of Intent we will have him. Here goes CNS again. His expertise in FBI, (FootBall Intelligence.) RTR!

His expertise in FBI, (FootBall Intelligence.) RTR! Agreed. The rumor was that Saban was recruiting this guy as a LB because of his size (6'3" 240 lbs. as a junior in HS). But Saban confirmed to him that they would recruit him as a RB. It is hard to tell from film how he would fare as a RB. in college and beyond. He is a man among boys in H.S. -- too big and powerful for them to bring down; noticeably bigger than the defensive players trying to tackle him. And he appears to have decent speed for his size, 40 time is listed at 4.58 secs. Definitely an elite athlete. Let's hope he picks Bama.Title: Re: Five-star UGA running back commit considering switch to Alabama Post by: Leroy on June 14, 2012, 10:17:49 AM Yes I saw this on Bleacher Report but I know not many people hold with their topics so I didn't post. Most of the ones who did make contact got run over and the only ones who did tackle him for the most part did it by accident when they got run over and tangled up in his running gear...LOL |
