Title: Alabama athletics get huge advantage from sizable non-coaching staff Post by: pmull on June 13, 2012, 11:27:38 AM Quote The "system" is predicated on responsibilities. Each person knows his or her role and is accountable for seeing it through. While the games are being played on Saturdays, someone is cutting up game film for the next week's opponent, analyzing tendencies and strengths and weaknesses. Before assistant coaches ever lay eyes on some prospects, someone will have gathered film and packaged it into a highlight reel. Instead of having coaches work on responsibilities A through Z, the support staff is able to work ahead and cut down the to-do list, allowing coaches to focus on what's important. Quote When Moore was asked how he felt about his return on investment, his answer was as succinct as it was matter-of-fact: "I think our record in recent years says it all." The Crimson Tide have won two national championships in the past three years and figure to begin the 2012 season ranked in the top five. That success has caused others to take notice and follow suit. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8043332/bigger-better-college-football-support-staffs Title: Re: Alabama athletics get huge advantage from sizable non-coaching staff Post by: Marshal Dillon on June 13, 2012, 11:41:26 AM I wish this article had never been printed. Now, the NCAA will step in and restrict the number of support staff, to something like 30 people. Plus, all the non-winning programs will want a limit to make them more competitive and out of jealously.

Do our own people do this, or is it a normal thing in college football. I hope the Nazi, oopppsss, NCAA stays out of this one. The other teams ought to work as hard as Alabama does. RTR!
