Title: Alabama favored in all but one game in 2012, according to Golden Nugget

Golden Nugget, a sportsbook in Las Vegas, already has betting odds up for over 100 college football games. They have odds for nine of Alabama’s 12 games in 2012 – with no odds on the “cupcake” games vs. Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic and Western Carolina.

Here are those point spreads, courtesy of Covers.com:

Michigan vs. Alabama (-12)

Alabama at Arkansas (+6.5)

Mississippi at Alabama (-31)

Alabama at Missouri (+14)

Alabama at Tennessee (+17)

Mississippi State at Alabama (-24)

Alabama at LSU (-2)

Texas A&M at Alabama (-20)

Auburn at Alabama (-18)

I'm not terribly surprised by the Who odds. Most pacles have us as an underdog in that game (exactly how I like it). Some of the others to me are a little surprising, especially a 24 point edge over State and 12 over Michigan (even though I think we could cover both or better).

Yeah, pretty rich odds overall, I'd say. I, too, like the fact that we're 'dogs against the corndogs. All but 2 of the games are double digits. I wouldn't bet against it, but I I'm not sure it's realistic.

These odds are put out way too early to take serious IMO. But it is fun to look at. After everyone has played an SEC game or two we will know who is for real. The odds on the LSU game is basically saying the two teams are even. Home field is normally worth a 3 points. If the game was in Tuscaloosa we would be a small favorite.

This is just something to occupy our time until Media Days and August camp starts.

Oh yeah, I know. It's still surprising some of the numbers, though.

Is Miss St supposed to be any good this year?  I haven't read much about them.  They've got AU and TN at home, a road game at KY, and what should be a bunch of walkovers before playing Bama.  Wouldn't it be a hoot if they showed up in Tuscaloosa undefeated...

Some of the pundits up North are thinking that The big 10 will make some noiise this season and Michigan will lead the pack. The party will be a short one if we send the pack leaded home with their tauls between their legs, a la MSUn.

I do think Michigan will be better this year -- Brady Hoke did an incredible job his first season fitting CRR's players into his system.  But this Bama team will be a challenge unlike Michigan has faced in several years.  VT doesn't count.  Most experts are already writing this game down as a loss for Michigan, and while we need to play the game, Bama should win.  I do think Michigan will give it everything they got, and Bama better be ready.  But I have confidence Saban will have the team prepared for victory.

I feel certain Bama will send Meecheegan packing and that will make for a long season in the Big 10. The one team they can hang their hat on, losing their first game, will have them looking ahead to BB season unless CUM and his Buckeyes get lucky or Wisconsin finally lives up to it's hype. I don't think MSUn will have what it takes this year without Cousins at QB.
