No way. The Big Ten Commissioner and the OSU President made a huge push to help OSU with the NCAA over that incident. There won' be any help this time. They have made the NCAA look foolish.

I think this is what happens. I think Auburn plays them very tough on the D, but Georgia wins because they will have the crowd on their side, while Auburn will be lucky to have 500 fans there.

The most compellng thing Finebaum said was hat no matter what, Tressel was finished at The Ohio State University. He said there's no way he can survive because his credibility was gone after lying to the college & the NCAA. Plus, the NCAA was going to come down hard due to his lying to the NCAA. Paul is usually very peceptie about these things and if the calls to his show are any indicatio, Tressel is in BIG trouble. I also think the AD and President are on the hot seat after their "performance." They have some major alumni who aren't going o be happy about this situation. Folks like Jack Nicklaus, Archie Grifin, Randy Gradishar, Clark Kellogg, Bobby Knight, John Havlicek, Judith Miller (Pulitzer Prize wining reporter), Walter Bogdanich (3 time winner of Pulitzer Prize investiative reporter),
Jeffrey Dahmer, and several CEO's of major companies. I don't think any of these folks will be out front to defend this guy. It ill be interesting to watch. I assume Paul will be rying to contact some sports radio types in Columbus, Ohio (home of the Buckeyes), to find out what they are hearing. They take this "The Ohio State University" integrity and image very seriously up there.

I think it could be all of the above. No or fake tapes=job loss.

It goes byond that, they can never deny the bias they have towards Southern schools, including the likes of Miami, FSU, the entire SEC, and probably most of the Texas schools and Oklahoma. This really irks me in the worst way. All their self-righteous, holier-than-thou talk about following the rules, hammering schools in the South, and looking their nose down at the same schools, is so disgusting. The NCAA HAS to do something relevant or they will have ZERO credibility. I hope ESPN, Finebaum, Rome, Cowherd, and the rest are unmerciful towards Ohio State and the NCAA over this matter. 

I really think the NCAA has to do something here, at least have him suspened for a total of 5-6 games. This is so crazy. I think Pearl should sue the crap out of the NCAA if they don't demand more.

Excellent article, thanks for posting. He is nailing it perfectly. The NCAA is setting itself up for a HUGE lawsuit if some coach, player, or university doesn't like the penalty it gets, especially if it's anything harsh.

BINGO!!  Now, let's see what the NCAA does to Pearl and then, if anything, to Tressel. This (OSU) is the biggest bunch of phonies and hypocrites in sports history.

So, Pearl lies but then came back and turned himself in and gets hammered by UT with an 8 game SEC suspension, loss of pay, and his contract was rescinded. Tressel gets caught by Yahoo and he gets a 2 game suspension and a puny fine. Sounds about right with the usual hypocrisy shown towards the SEC. This is AFTER the Big Ten Commissioner and the OSU President heavily lobbied the NCAA about this matter to let the players play in the bowl game. Wow!
