Very good analysis.
I would like to add that I was very impressed with our special teams play today.
Our guys corralled them nicely when they decided to run it on kick offs and punts.
Our O line has to improve for AR next week.

Our O-line is built to run the ball. And run the ball we shall. Mix in some hard core play action and we have a winning formula. The drop back passing needs to be limited until we get better on pass blocking with those big guys.
Just a guess: we worked on drop-back pass blocking today.  You know... I bet you are exactly right about that now that I think about it. That explains a lot. That makes me nervous!  I feel much better about it now actually. We obviously needed the work in that area. We totally abandoned the running game, that much was obvious. If we mix in the running game and the play action pass with those drop back passes it would be much harder for the D to get those 6 sacks. Next week we will go back to our normal M.O. and we will be a little better at pass blocking when we do call those plays. I sure hope you're right, SC. |
