46  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: *** OFFICIAL UNC-USCe & Ole Miss-Vandy IN-GAME THREADs *** on: August 30, 2013, 07:35:26 AM
I just figured if I talked good about vandy they would screw up and lose

their students were filing out early
old habits huh ,,,

I like Vandy better than Ole Miss, and without the pickem I would have been rooting for them.  Also, when a team in the SEC West loses it puts Bama closer to the SECCG.

Ditto...not that I don't like Ole Miss, I do...but I usually like to pull for the underdogs and I'm always pulling for Vandy to upset somebody  Wink

     Goooooood Mornin CRS    Coffee

Another nice morning so far here in SoWeGa...50% chance of rain today, tomorrow, and Sunday.  I've got to go into work and sit around my office for 4 hours today...it will be my last 4 hours in my office as I'll be bringing home the last of my personal belongings today.  I gave my employer 2 weeks notice on Wednesday and I will officially retire on my 58th Birthday...Tuesday, September 10, 2013.

Looks like I'm in a 20 way tie for first on the CRS picks...maybe I'll make the leaderboard for the first time for a few minutes this year  Embarrassed

I hope y'all have a great day and make a new friend today...and don't forget to spread around a few Roll Tide's    Wink

The Andy Griffith Show was great TV. Even after all the years the reruns are better than 90% of what is on TV today.

Amen pmull...I watch it every morning at 9:30  Wink

  Gooooood Mornin CRS  Coffee

It's a beautiful morning in SoWeGa and I'm feeling pretty good...I sure would like to go outside and play but Mrs Leroy said no...and the doctor also said NO!  They said I could get out and do a little more tomorrow though.

I need to get my CRS picks entered...I'm probably going to take the easy way out on that and just copy Brother Rickey's picks and then try to price-is-right him on the tie-breaker.

Chech, I've discussed a couple of procedures with my doctor that could probably make the fluid buildup a little easier to deal with.  One was a tube surgically implanted in the chest that you could use to drain it through whenever or as often as you needed drained.  This would be done as an outpatient procedure.

The other was to deflate both lungs and drain all the fluid, spray the inside of the ribcage with talcum powder and then fully re-inflate the lungs.  The talcum powder is supposed to let the lungs expand easier without crimping and then once in place the powder would act like a glue to make the lung stick to the ribcage.  This would require a 2-4 day hospital stay.

I hope everyone has a great day just living life today...but make it count for something and spread some grins while you're at it  Wink

Good morning Chech and CB and to the rest of CRS as they awaken. Coffee

I hope every one has a great hump day.

I haven't seen Leroy on here much since he got home from his trip, hopefully everything is going well for him.

Bring it on, tomorrow night we can watch some college football and I am more than ready. We aren't going to Atlanta this year for the Bama game and I'm kind of glad we decided not to go. I think there is the Bama game, Nascar race, and Braves baseball happening there this weekend and that place will be jammed.

I'm a little concerned about Leroy, too. I've pm'd him, but haven't gotten a response yet. Hope he's ok.

Phil, these are great stories and those memories you will have forever. As much as we have enjoyed those events in the comfort of our home with big screen, hi def. TV or in a stadium seat, you most certainly have a better appreciation of it all.

Goood Mornin CRS  Coffee

I'm sorry for being AWOL the last few days...I've been a little under the weather.  For the last week or so, I've been on oxygen almost full time and even the smallest amount of physical activity without it left me in pain and gasping for air. Yesterday, I had 3 liters of fluid (yes, 3 liters!!!) drained from my chest cavity and I'm breathing so much better today. I'm a little bruised up and sore from the procedure and I'm getting sharp pains sometimes when I move in certain ways but I expect those pains to go away in a couple of days and in the mean time I'm quickly learning to avoid movements that hurt...LOL.

I have an appointment with my pulmonologist next Monday to discuss options for reducing or eliminating the fluid buildup. Hopefully, after that I won't have to keep going through this cycle of shortness of breath, pain, and draining fluid every 2 or 3 weeks.

Thank you all of you for your prayers and positive thoughts!!!

Goooood Mornin CRS from back home in Bainbridge, GA.   Coffee

Mrs Leroy and I had a long drive/ride yesterday...about 10 1/2 hours on the road with 3 of those hours in the rain...but it was worth it.  The dog (Daisy) and cats (Leroy, Dixie, and Trixie) were happy to see me.

Daisy Dog...

I've got to go ride the lawnmower for a couple of hours as soon as the grass dries and before it gets too sunny and hot...then it will probably be couch time for me for the rest of the day...

Hope all of you have a good one...Roll Tide  Wink

Goooood Mornin from Arkansas again...we've (Mrs Leroy) decided to spend another day here.  To be honest, I had forgotten how much 8 grandchildren can wear you out and I needed a quiet day today to rest up before riding/driving all day tomorrow.
