I'll bet you will be happier on the Jerry Springer board where you can run down all the Tide players you want. HTH [/quote] If I wanted to run someone down, believe me I could. I choose not to do that...and not because I respect the person who is doing it. I'm sure every college program has some like him lurking around- that's life. The "dime a dozen" remark rubs me the wrong way. The players are JUST kids and they grow up to be JUST people like the rest of us. It's fun to watch but a 20 year old boy is not going to be my hero and his life has no more value than anyone else's. Sorry if that's not hardcore enough for you but the point where I mourn more for a celebrity or public figure than a real person I've interacted with is the point where I will reevaluate my priorities. HTH!

I know I don't come here often, but I would love to make a suggestion. Taz was such a huge part of Bama football forums and such a true and tried fan who truly loved the Crimson Tide. In honor of such a huge fan and an even greater man, why don't we rename one of the member levels after him. I think it would be a huge tribute to him. God bless.
Football is big at Alabama. Our players and coaches are legends. Fans are a dime a dozen and we don't ask for special recognition to be one. I know it may be hard for y'all to understand. We have a HOF Board just for these purposes, but our focus remains on the guys in Crimson. HTH Ok, One thing about this bothers me and it's this: Taz was not born with the physical advantages the "guys in Crimson" were. His heart was all Bama though. Those players go there 90 percent of the time with the eye on the NFL. Even if they don't make it, they get a free college ride. Taz gave his heart to Alabama with nothing in return except the enjoyment of the Crimson Tide. Some players give their all, some don't. If he had been born with the physical abilities of some of these kids he could have been the greatest who ever played. I won't worship an 18 year old boy because he was blessed by God with the ability to play football well. What you make out of what gifts you were given is more a mark of your character than the gifts God chose to give you. PS: I know some very private details about one of "the greats" in crimson and despite everyone thinking he's a stand up guy I can tell you he's a heel, a phony, and a crappy human being. So no...no player or coach worship here.

So very sorry to hear about Taz passing. Knowing he is running in Heaven is a wonderful thought for me to keep in my heart and mind.
Congrats NavyChief!
beautifully put, Terrie... and I hope Jesus will introduce him to the Bear.

I hope Coach Hank Crisp, the poster, can be resurrected. I do not believe the poster is dead. If he does not show back up on this board, consider this poster dead.I need to find a place where more married women keep up with Alabama football, anyway. Hank was an asset to this forum.
As a fellow married gal, these guys are as good as you are going to get on a sports board. The preacher would hit them with his walker (or a good Bible verse) if they got too rowdy. They are completely respectful and this is THE only Alabama sports forum I would let my 8 year old read. I think you're confused about the situation- Coach Hank Crisp was just a username...not the real name. There might be another CHC on another board, but it's not the same poster who was one of us.

Good luck...fun times. How close do you live? Maybe you should just go drive around and look. I moved to Starkville while my now husband was finishing up his degree and in a college town you really need to lay eyes on it if you can...or have someone you trust tell you the scoop. I got lucky and landed in a cute, cheap, place with no roaches and only had to step over a passed out frat boy once

You cannot expect them to change their national color scheme/logo design for an in-store promotion. lol. I imagine that with all the rebuilding efforts around Tuscaloosa recently, this could be piggy-backed into something much more public relation based involving the store and the team. I would suggest to them this as a centerpiece of something much more national in scope. JMHO
Then the Home Depot in Aubrun would be only 2 aisles! absolutely...cannot sell power tools because it would be a liability to let someone dumb enough to love auburn run them. they have plenty of manure on their own, so no gardening department. no indoor plumbing so there goes the bathroom remodeling aisle.

Athletes should get the same kind of scholarship commitment from a university as a person there on academic scholarship. No more. No less. I know the athletes have a lot extra on their plate but that's how I feel. The world could live without sports, but doctors, teachers, etc...no way.
