Nobody worried about that 31-0 lickin' they gave the Buckeyes?
OSU had it's share of close games (Northwestern) interspersed among some thrashings that they handed out (Wisconsin). I wouldn't overlook the possibility that Clemson caught Tosu on a night that they had their minds on other things.

I will be pulling for the boogs over big game bob. Iron sharpens iron, and we need our SEC brethren to bring it year in and year out if we want to stay on top.
They got handled pretty thoroughly.

It seems to me that the entire season has been marked by an offensive strategy of testing offensive approaches on consecutive series of downs. If we find something that works, we put it on the shelf and don't come back to it in that particular game unless we need it. The jet sweep series, the Damien Harris end around series, the Bo Scarborough up the middle series, etc. The default is a short-pass, flare pass approach designed to get JH more comfortable with the passing part of his game. When that's working well enough, we stay with it.
I believe that we will be able to do this in the Washington game. No disrespect, but they are too small, and we are just as fast as them. I believe we will be able to get through this game without giving the winner of the other semi a lot of tape to watch. Except for the defense. They can watch all the tape they want of our defense. Won't matter at all.

More analysis
9 of the writers have PSU in but only two of them have PSU and OSU in. Thus, sentiment seems to be running against 2 big ten teams at the expense of either of the 1 loss conference champs. 1 dido has Michigan in. The koolaid is strong in the mitten.

1. Alabama enough said. 2. Clemson by way of winning the ACC Championship. 3. Washington by way of winning the PAC Championship game. 4. PSU by way of beating osu and winning the Big 10 Championship game. RTR!
I would agree with you Preacher, based on two factors - cons championship and head to head regarding the PSU vs OSU question.

Unfortunate but you can't blame him. I suspect that CNS has been anticipating this and has a plan for it. To tell you the truth, I think Saban could win a championship game without a quarterback. Between now and new years eve every RB will be practicing throwing short passes.

Here is the Football Writers Association of America's individual balloting for the final rankings before the playoffs. RankingsIt is curious that 3 writers rank OSU 4th but 7 rank them 5th. Seems like the ones who want them in do not want them to face bama first. Their top 10, FYI 1. Alabama (13-0) 720 45 2. Clemson (12-1) 639 --- 3. Ohio State (11-1) 636 --- 4. Washington (12-1) 590 --- 5. Penn State (11-2) 528 --- 6. Michigan (10-2) 515 --- 7. Oklahoma (10-2) 450 --- 8. USC (9-3) 373 --- 9. Wisconsin (10-3) 366 --- 10. Florida State (9-3) 267 ---
